 Coro Fellowship

September 2015, I began the New York City's Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs, which is a graduate-level fellowship that that utilizes cross-sector experiences to prepare young professionals for effective and ethical leadership in the civic sector.  

​The synopsis of work accomplished at my six Coro Fellow placements can be found below:

•    Prepared IC for the implementation of its Innovation Lab, a community-based job training and entrepreneurship center that will facilitate employment connection between IC tenants and local residents
•    Advised best governance practices to be used by the Innovation Lab's board
•    Brainstormed IC's brand identity and partnerships congruent to that brand

•    Developed a strategy to bring urgency back to the HIV/AIDS epidemic for millennial audiences
•    Identified partnerships by analyzing the network of organizations focussing on alleviating the social determinants of acquiring HIV/AIDS 
•    Delivered communications recommendations that utilized social media to reach younger audiences, universities to uncover community activists, and executive positioning to inform the HIV/AIDS landscape

•    Investigated the international trend toward implementing social and sustainable business practices, and delivered recommendations as to how Edelman can further its involvement 
•    Supported a range of blue chip clients in the Public Affairs and Business + Social Purpose practice
•    Contributed to the creation of Well + Good, the Business + Social Purpose practice's newsletter

•    Evaluated models of effective community-based collaboration to identify best practices for agency use
•    Recommended effective strategies and tactics based on the Collective Impact model
•    Identified potential for-profit partnerships for the Summer Youth Employment Program and candidates for the Youth Board
•    Supported the reelection and fundraising efforts of three New York State assembly members: Dan Quart, Robert Rodriguez and Michelle Schimel
•    Assisted political call time, drafted client endorsements, and staffed events
•    Researched strategic alliances, and provided competitor report for the taxi industry on behalf of The Black Institute
•    Designed political campaign website and infographic for publishing
•    Simplified policy documents for quicker access to information
•    Worked directly with the Executive Director, Bhairavi Desai, to ensure mission-alignment of works
